Position Overview :
The Technical Support Specialist ensures proper computer operations for end users to accomplish organizational tasks effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities include receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving end user help requests, utilizing diagnostics and help request tracking tools, and providing hands-on desktop support.
Key Responsibilities :
* Proactively monitor and support end user hardware and software needs promptly.
* Prioritize workload to address the most critical issues first.
* Install, upgrade, and configure hardware and software.
* Assist in testing new hardware and software before deployment.
* Configure, monitor, and maintain mobile security and virus protection software.
* Maintain hardware and software inventories.
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot content management systems.
* Manage web environments, including internal and external websites, ensuring security, testing, quality assurance, and content updates.
* Serve as backup for VOIP phone systems, cell phones, and printers/copiers.
* Create and maintain user documentation for help desk support.
* Keep equipment operational through repairs, following manufacturer instructions and procedures.
* Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
* Enhance job knowledge via training, reading, and networking.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory mandates like HIPAA and licensing agreements.
* Participate in disaster preparedness planning for data and equipment security.
Minimum Requirements :
High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s in Computer Science or IT preferred. At least 2 years of experience in a tech-related role, with helpdesk/support experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft products (Azure, Office 365, SharePoint) and operating systems, along with troubleshooting skills, is required. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are essential.
