The activity of NAS domain: avionics, navigation and radar systems for civil air traffic and technologies supporting civilian and military pilots, ATC controllers, and technicians of airlines, air traffic control agencies, and Air Force worldwide. Italy is the Group’s Competence center for designing, producing, and delivering Navigation Aids products, and for non-Radar Surveillance Products.
Thales architects solutions enabling two-thirds of planes to take off and land safely. Our Ground Navigation portfolio includes the latest generation of ILS, DME, VOR, and TACAN systems.
With over 7,000 Navigation aids and landing systems installed across 172 countries, we lead the Navaids market.
We are currently looking for a
* Head of Bid Management
* to join Thales Land and Air Systems, in its Navaids Center of Competence.
The Head of Bid Management plays a key role by ensuring bids are properly framed for approval and that offers are delivered on time and within budget, maximizing winning and capture rates. This is a vital role in a Business Unit delivering offers globally.
* Main Tasks
* Manage the portfolio of Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS-NAS) customer offers, reporting to the Bids & Projects Director.
* Deploy win teams linking customer needs to Thales offerings.
* Manage bid priorities and resource availability.
* Approve internal summaries and ensure timely, compliant proposal delivery.
* Improve bid practices and tools to optimize processes.
Key interfaces include Marketing and Sales, Product Line Architect, Product Design Authority, Program Management, Industry, Senior Management, and Contract Management.
* Detailed Tasks & Responsibilities
* Lead and guide the bid team, providing management direction.
* Ensure effective evaluation of cost estimates for competitiveness.
* Align bids with strategic business objectives.
* Oversee reviews and governance to ensure high-quality proposals.
* Support Bid Managers' skill development.
* Maintain the bid library for standardization and efficiency.
* Ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to Thales processes.
Experience required:
* Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years or Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
* Knowledge of Ground Navigation, Surveillance, Air Traffic Management, Aeronautics, or Aviation.
* Good understanding of business administration and contract management.
* Fluent in Italian, Spanish, French, or other languages.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office tools.
* Interest in industry trends, regulations, and legislation.
* Ability to manage complex organizational and stakeholder relationships.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills.
* Independent, creative problem solver.
* Leadership skills, including lateral leadership.
* Commercial acumen and results orientation.
* Ability to work with international teams and cultures.
