We’re seeking an efficient ICQA Operations Manager to take ownership of our fulfilment centre Inventory Control and Quality Assurance (ICQA).Our fulfilment centres sit at the heart of Amazon’s rapidly growing operations network: they are where we manage our fast-moving inventory. In each fulfilment centre, our teams stow deliveries, pick products, package them up and ship them out; each of these groups have played their part in taking us where we are today.These fulfilment centres are fast-paced and high reward environments, where adherence to policies and procedures is key. We need the right type of leader to ensure that we deliver as reliably as ever to our customers, while making sure our teams deliver on customer obsession.Key job responsibilitiesLead and supervise a team of ICQA Area Managers and of hourly Associates (including Team Leads and Data Analyst) assigned to inventory control, quality assurance and problem solve operations within the fulfillment centrePartner with Operations and other Support teams to establish, influence and adhere to policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with safety programs and SOX regulationsAnalyze inventory defects, problem solve issues or customer defects data to identify corresponding actions plan that improve qualityConduct short-term (weekly) and mid-term (month/quarter) labor plans, forecasting capacity needs, staffing plans and schedulesSupport in interviewing and training fulfillment center Area ManagersYour Role And Responsibilities In The ICQA TeamLead and supervise a team of ICQA Area Managers and of hourly Associates (including Team Leads and Data Analyst) assigned to inventory control, quality assurance and problem solve operations within the fulfillment centerPartner with Operations and other Support teams to establish, influence and adhere to policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with safety programs and SOX regulationsAnalyze inventory defects, problem solve issues or customer defects data to identify corresponding actions plan that improve qualityConduct short-term (weekly) and mid-term (month/quarter) labor plans, forecasting capacity needs, staffing plans and schedulesSupport in interviewing and training fulfillment center Area ManagersYour role and responsibilities in your FC and within operationsGain expertise in key fulfilment centre process paths, as well as exception handling; we’ll need you to ensure that process discipline is adhered to across all shifts and departmentsEnsure KPIs are reviewed on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis and perform control and quality analysis on any behaviours/processes that could impact on inventory integrityCollaborate with all department managers to identify and understand key projects, initiatives and system enhancementsWork with Loss Prevention teams to establish, influence and adhere to Loss Prevention policies and proceduresLiaise with Operations Managers, Senior Operations Managers, and General Managers to aid the communication of all policies related to process disciplineSupport in Interviewing and hiring new ManagersA day in the lifeYou will lead a department responsible for inventory control, quality assurance and problem solve operations. Your day typically starts with a meeting with the fulfillment centers leadership team, where you'll review previous day performance and address any ongoing issues. Throughout the day, you will review inventory discrepancies and quality performance, analyze data, looking for trends and opportunities for process improvement, collaborating with your own team of Area Managers and hourly Associates, with other partners in FC operations or with central teams that own Catalogue, Procurement, Supply Chain, Process Engineering, Loss Prevention and Program Management. You will spend time on the floor, observing processes and ensuring safety standards are maintained in your area. You'll also dedicate time developing your Area Managers providing feedback, and identifying training needs. You will finish the day knowing you've contributed to maintaining inventory accuracy, resolving quality challenges, and ultimately ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient and accurate fulfillment operations.About The TeamThe EU ICQA mission is to prevent and remove customer-facing defects with the goal to provide a world class service to our customers, at the lowest possible cost. The applicable collective agreement (CCNL) for this role is Logistica, Trasporto Merci e Spedizione. The position is classified at level Quadro or above, depending on the candidate’s skills, competences and experience. Amazon reserves the right to offer a higher salary and/or level depending on the candidate’s skills, competencies, and experience.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent qualificationDemonstrated solid proficiency in time management skills, alongside confidence in organising vast amounts of dataProven ability to influence, with varying levels of seniority within an organisationYou’re highly dependable and able to manage business functions that can operate 24/7 (including holidays): you manage time efficiently to get the job doneA resilient, focused problem solver and self-starter, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a complex, occasionally ambiguous environmentStrong commitment to employee development, as well as an exceptional level of dedication, motivation and intelligencePrevious supervisory experience in a distribution or manufacturing environmentExcellent verbal and written communications skills in the local language and in EnglishPreferred QualificationsDegree in a science or logistics-based discipline, with a strong bias towards analytics and data would be advantageousStrong understanding of finance and accounting functions, with a grasp of how inventory and accounts relate to each otherBackground in a logistics, distribution or similar environmentPrevious Inventory Control and Quality Assurance Management experienceExperience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and techniquesEqual Opportunity StatementAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
