Buyers are responsible for buying parts and components. This position requires in-depth research and the ability to negotiate supplier contracts, manage inventory, evaluate quality products, and stick to a budget. Buyers must achieve the goal and the final results. Collaborate with the Global Commodity Manager to define commodity strategies.
- Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, manage the commodity prices and conditions of supply and establish long term contracts and strategies;
- in collaboration with the Purchasing Manager prepare forecast and budget for the assigned commodities;
- propose ideas for cost reduction and lead related projects. Benchmark to find out the most competitive source with the target to reduce the number of active suppliers;
- support Global Supply Chain Organization to identify innovative methods of procurement ensuring early supplier involvement collaborating with the Advanced Purchasing Manager;
- maintain up-to-date knowledge of local economic's trend in order to support the global Commodity Manager to build directions considering the global economics and business conditions;
- conduct supplier business review meetings with support of technical department;
- create Purchase Orders and follow-up on processing to ensure the material due dates are met;
- contribute to the evaluation of suppliers in terms of information security and verify, with the support of the Local Security Officer (LSO), the information security elements at the level of contracts with suppliers.
