Openjobmetis SpA is seeking an Industrial Engineer – Defence sector to join our team in Campi Bisenzio (FI). The role focuses on industrialising electro‑mechanical and optical products, from design through to production, improving cost, quality and scalability. Responsibilities
Lead activities of industrialisation for electro‑mechanical/optical products, from design to production; improve cost, quality and scalability. Design, develop, install and validate assembly and handling equipment. Interface with engineering, design, quality, HSE, production to ensure process conformity, lean methods, line simulation and planning for new or improved products.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Management, or related engineering. At least 5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering/Operations in aerospace/defence or high‑tech production. Hands‑on experience designing and validating automation solutions and assembly tooling. Strong Lean/Continuous Improvement background (Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt preferred; APICS certification a plus). Knowledge of SPC, time‑study, PFMEA, PDCA and problem‑solving methodologies. Experience with ERP (preferably SAP), MES, APS (e.g., Siemens Opcenter) and PLM. Familiarity with CAM, CMM and basic discrete‑event simulation for production flows and logistics. Advanced data analysis and reporting skills (Power BI, Excel). Knowledge of REACH, RoHS and commercial compliance requirements. Understanding of ESD and FOD prevention best practices. Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork and time‑management skills. English language proficiency B2 or higher. Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
