This position is for a Junior Research Scientist in Satellite Data Assimilation and Atmospheric Modelling for the PRESTO project. The project aims to bridge the gap between pure research and real‑time civil protection needs.

• Contribute to research activities involving the assimilation of satellite observations in high‑resolution modelling systems.
• Support the development of preprocessing and quality‑control procedures for real‑time observations.
• Cooperate effectively with national and international research partners.

We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in satellite remote sensing, numerical weather prediction, atmospheric composition modelling, and the development and assessment of advanced data assimilation methods.

Salary range EUR 50,000 – 70,000. The role includes opportunities for training at the national and international levels, and working in a cutting‑edge science environment.
