Senior GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Analyst / GIS System Manager (GIS Analyst, GIS Systems Manager)

Summary
Under the general direction of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe’s GIS Manager, performs professional technical work in the acquisition and maintenance of digital data of high complexity. Work requires independent judgment in managing multiple priorities and coordinating work activities to meet schedules and goals. Duties include:
* GIS system and database design, creation, and maintenance
* Project coordination
* Client services
* Geo-spatial product production
* Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) operations
The workload varies from moderate to heavy, encompassing tribal-wide projects and collaborations with other agencies. Work environment includes office settings, outdoor fieldwork with GPS and UAS equipment, and occasional lifting of equipment up to 70 lbs. Responsibilities include:
* Managing GIS projects, systems, and databases
* Supporting data backup and security
* Performing GIS analysis and creating maps and reports
* Developing GIS applications and processes
* Providing technical support and training
* Evaluating new GIS technologies
* Managing the Tribe’s UAS program, including flight operations, data processing, and library management
Additional duties involve assisting with budgeting, staff evaluation, professional development, grant management, supervision, and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
* Support for the Tribe’s vision, mission, and values
* Compliance with tribal health policies
* Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field plus at least four years’ experience, or equivalent combined education and experience
* Proficiency with Windows OS, Microsoft SQL Server, Esri geodatabases, ArcGIS software, programming languages (Python, SQL, .NET, HTML, JavaScript), and GIS hardware
* Experience with UAVs, including flight planning, data collection, and post-processing software like Drone2Map
* Ability to obtain FAA Part 107 license and operate UAVs safely
* Knowledge of habitat conservation, land management, and GIS applications in natural resources
* Strong research, communication, problem-solving, and multi-project management skills
