Job Description
HUMS System Engineer, with experience/interest in Advanced Diagnostic Systems development.
The role will cover most of LHD Helicopter types and will include activities from the conceptual definition up to deployment in service, including innovative solutions.
The role requires interaction with various technical areas and customer support, combined with an open-minded and proactive approach.
Activities
System architecture definition, design, and analysis.
Requirements capture, allocation, derivation, validation, and verification.
Preparation of technical specifications and project documentation.
Review of electrical design, including engineering drawings.
Conduct presentations at technical design reviews.
Preparation of test documentation and conduct of integration testing.
Participate in aircraft ground and flight trials.
Analysis of recorded data to identify non-conforming or potential non-conforming components.
Qualification and certification of equipment and systems.
Technical management of external suppliers.
Liaison with customers, internal and external.
Supporting bid activities with future customers.
Skills
Degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering) or HNC/HND/BTEC and Apprenticeship, plus appropriate experience.
Experience in mechanical and/or structural engineering roles is desirable; experience in transmission engineering is also desirable; knowledge of systems engineering, avionics, and propulsion systems is beneficial.
Knowledge and experience of signal processing, vibration/dynamics, and health and usage monitoring are advantages.
Proficiency in standard office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with MATLAB and DATS data analysis tool is highly desirable.
Good interpersonal skills for dealing with various departments and in-service support to the UK MOD and MILEX customers.
Flexibility and adaptability to work independently and within teams.
Understanding of relevant airworthiness regulations.
Experience with DOORS Requirements Management Tool (or similar) is highly desirable.
