The Role of a Logistic and Transport Specialist in Major Sporting Events
Major sporting events require precise planning and coordination to ensure the smooth operation of various logistical and transportation procedures. One key role in this process is that of the Logistic and Transport Specialist.
In this capacity, you will be responsible for developing strategic plans for logistics and transport, as well as overseeing their operational management. This includes coordinating with the Command Centre and competitive/non-competitive venues, representing the Doping Control team in various planning processes, and maintaining updated planning documents.
You will also play a crucial role in organizing and documenting regular meetings, providing support to the Head of Doping Control, and keeping track of milestones related to doping control. Additionally, you will participate in meetings as requested by the Head of Doping Control and maintain meeting minutes and reports.
This position requires strong project management and organizational skills, as well as experience in sport events, human resources organization, and complex organizations. You must also be able to work under pressure, have a flexible attitude towards changing priorities, and possess strong relationship-building and communication skills.
During Games Time, your responsibilities will include coordinating logistic and transport procedures, supporting the observer program, and ensuring the efficient performance of doping controls.
This role is ideal for individuals who are proactive, motivated to learn, and can simplify and synthesize complex information. If you possess excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, you will be well-suited for this position.
