About the Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to join our team in Caivano. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and energy efficiency. You will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across all HSE domains. By taking on this role, you will become part of our company, Fresystem S.p.A.—an Italian company that is part of the Ferrero Group, specialized in the production and marketing of frozen baked goods, both sweet and savory.
Main Responsibilities:
As HSE Manager, you will ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and energy regulations, maintaining high standards across all operations. You’ll oversee risk assessments, training plans, contractor management, incident reporting, and corrective actions. You’ll manage documentation for external bodies, implement statutory training programs, and supervise medical surveillance and H&S KPIs. Supporting all functions, you’ll enforce corporate policies, interpret legal requirements, advise on H&S initiatives, and review operational plans to ensure safety compliance. You’ll conduct audits, update procedures within the ISO 45001 framework, and promote local instruction updates. Coaching on safety topics and contributing to LEAN tools like Gemba Walks, SOPs, RCA, and Safety Maps will be part of your role, along with organizing wellbeing campaigns such as Safety Days.
On the environmental and energy side, you’ll ensure compliance with the AUA permit, manage regulatory updates, and support investment assessments aligned with sustainability goals. Acting as liaison with authorities, you’ll maintain ISO14001/EMAS procedures, lead audits, and develop the Environment & Energy Masterplan. You’ll coordinate decarbonization projects, monitor KPIs, and report data for sustainability disclosures including CSR-D and CDP. You’ll also represent the site in global meetings, sharing best practices and driving continuous improvement.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a candidate with a degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification, and at least five to seven years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety, ideally within a manufacturing setting. Experience in FMCG is considered a plus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a dynamic and proactive approach, with the ability to manage high-pressure situations involving sensitive or confidential matters. Strong interpersonal and project management skills are essential, along with a commitment to high standards of customer service and work quality. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are required. Certifications in RSPP (Prevention and Protection Service Responsible), ISO14001 internal auditing, and ideally ISO50001 internal auditing are expected. Proficiency in MS Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Forms, and Power BI is necessary. Fluency in English and Italian is required.
