PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Safety specialist position is part of the Safety Team which has the mission to assess and ensure the compliance with the safety regulations and the Company policies, as well as the achievement of the safety targets.
The main responsibilities are:
• Development and supervision of safety performance improvement plans, sustainability programs, and ISO 45001 compliance.
• Monitoring Company performance through data collection, reporting, internal audits, and support to risk assessments.
• Support in defining and implementing safety policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, best practices, and methodologies.
• Preventive assessment of safety impacts related to new technologies, equipment, processes, and organizational models.
• Contribution to WW Sustainability Statement activities and to awareness, training, and communication initiatives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The activities will be partly dedicated to manage a specific perimeter of the Company and partly to manage assigned processes and projects at Company level. They include but are not limited to the following:
Within the assigned perimeter:
Drive safety performance in the assigned perimeter.
Ensure that all events (LTI, FA, NM, UA, UC) are reported from all areas of the assigned perimeter, ensuring that the investigations are properly led by site management (root causes, corrective actions, etc) .
Lead the implementation of Corporate safety standards within the local organizations in the assigned perimeter.
Support sites on managing safety aspects, in compliance with the applicable laws, regulations, specific permits (and related prescriptions) and corporate requirements.
Support sites in identifying and solving potential risks by proposing corrective and improvement actions.
Contribute to maintain the ISO 45001 standard documentation updated, in line with the regulatory evolution and the Company policies and standards.
Perform internal audit and site visits, in order to verify the compliance with the standard ISO45001 and with the Company policies and to assess the risks of the sites.
Collect and aggregate the safety data by using the specific company software.
Oversee the safety risk assessment of the sites and the related improvement programs and activities.
Review / support on safety monitoring campaign reports (noise, vibrations, chemicals, …)
Support sites on improvement activities, visits/queries by internal control depts/local authorities/public bodies.
Support sites in case of external visits or joint meetings, new/renewal of permits and authorizations as well as litigations.
Support sites in case of Due Diligences for all the safety aspects concerned.
Ensure (with external consultancy support, if necessary) key trainings are carried out, (e.g., Induction/Orientation, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Spaces, etc.).
Related to assigned processes and projects at Company level:
Support in designing, implementing and improving safety Company programs, activities and initiatives aimed at preventing accidents and complying with applicable Regulations;
Develop and monitor improvement activities, projects and new initiatives to achieve the Company targets and the compliance assurance, both for technical and for sustainability aspects.
Develop and enforce Safety guidelines and practices.
Contribute to the Sustainability central audit by supporting the sites during the activity.
Contribute to the development of training material, information and training tools regarding safety topics.
Support for all activities related to the WW Sustainability Statement
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or related field, in technical disciplines.
5+ years of experience in safety areas.
Advanced knowledge of safety practices, legislation and standard.
Experience in safety audits (ISO 45001 internal auditor qualification is strongly preferred).
Experience in safety risk assessments.
Knowledge of industry best practices and safety practices.
Experience in managing multiple projects within deadlines and with proper attention to detail.
Communication skills, both spoken and written, including the ability to communicate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Good interpersonal relationship skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure, both independently and in a team.
Ability in self-directed learning.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office use
Good/fluent knowledge of written and spoken English (in addition to Italian).
