Learn more about this role and how you can begin driving your career forward! We're looking for a Junior Plant Buyer in Arco (TN), the new resource will report to Purchasing SR. Manager. Will be the first point of escalation to purchasing and suppliers for main plant function like logistic, quality and engineering for all the commodities not directly represented in plant, will coordinate with senior buyers the new requisition for new product launch and the standard prototype launch with plant logistic. First point of coordination within purchasing for Blumesource CRM portal and EDI. Will have an administrative responsibility for price list and IPR Approval submission. SAP purchasing superuser administrator. Assistant for EU purchasing director and purchasing senior manager. Main opportunities and challenges: Front office position in a multiethnic environment where English is the mail used language, opportunity to develop deep knowledge and relationship with many important functions in the company and with vendors, Opportunity to develop deep knowledge on SAP function as purchasing superuser and CRM and EDI functions. Possibility to develop and grow as buyer. Main Responsibilites • For the assigned commodity, implements the development of supply base management strategies that lead to lowest total cost in terms of quality, inventory, lead time, delivery, service and unit cost. • Selects suppliers using the Sourcing procedure, negotiate Long Term and Supply Contracts where applicable, and maintain performance to expectations through negotiation of prices and terms to achieve best overall purchase decision • Keeps abreast of market conditions, Competitor Benchmarking, new developments and techniques of manufacture for assigned commodities by maintaining close contacts with suppliers. • Support the launch of new prototypes and work with Business/Product Lines to solve suppliers' issues. Job position requirements Education: University bachelor degree: Degree in Economics, Engineering or Foreign languages Professional background • 1 to 3 years' experience in Purchasing Department (preferential requirement). Hard skills (knowledge, technical skills, languages, IT skills...) Essential: • English language proficiency • Excel, Power Bi knowledge Considered as a plus: • SAP knowledge Soft skills • Flexibility and team-working oriented • Excellent communication skills • Sense of responsibility • Strongly self-motivated, determined and proactive, result driven • Ability to learn and to work under pressure • Sense of initiative Allison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer.
