About This Vacancy
We are looking for a Verification & Validation Engineer to join the team developing space systems. The role will be responsible for verification activities (ensuring the system is built correctly) and validation activities (ensuring the system meets mission objectives), working on hardware, onboard software, ground segments, and system–satellite integration. You will collaborate with System Engineering, Flight Software, AOCS/GNC, Payload Engineering, Ground Segment, and QA/PA to ensure full compliance with ECSS space standards, structured processes, and mission‑critical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and maintain the Verification Plan (VVP) with requirements → verification method traceability.
* Prepare and execute HW/SW functional and integration tests.
* Perform environmental tests (TVAC, vibration, shock, EMC).
* Conduct interface tests (ICD, TM/TC, SpaceWire, CAN, CCSDS).
* Draft test cases and test procedures on EGSE, SCOE, HIL, and simulators.
* Participate in the definition of the Validation Plan (VAP).
* Conduct end‑to‑end tests between satellite, MCS, Ground Segment, and Payload Chain.
* Validate mission performance, satellite autonomy, operational procedures, and critical functions.
* Draft Test Reports (TR), analyze logs and results.
* Manage Non‑Conformities (NCR) and support official reviews: TRR, TRB, MRR, ORR, AR.
* Collaborate with QA/PA for audits, configuration, and certification.
What We Expect From You
* Native Italian speaker, fluent in English; knowledge of Spanish considered a plus.
* Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related fields.
* Knowledge of ECSS standards.
* Experience in V&V of complex systems, preferably in aerospace/defense.
* Knowledge of space protocols (CCSDS, SpaceWire, CAN), requirements analysis and RM tools (DOORS/Jama/Polarion), and use of simulators, EGSE, HIL.
* Ability to write procedures and interpret ICDs.
* Availability to travel within Europe.
