About Us

Pipein is transforming how critical infrastructure is inspected and maintained across water and wastewater systems, energy assets, and underwater and large-scale civil infrastructure. We are a fast-moving Deep Tech startup developing DDS3, an integrated robotic and software system that combines advanced inspection robots with a digital platform to operate inside pipelines, tunnels, and complex confined environments. DDS3 converts inspection data into actionable insights for smarter asset management, risk reduction, and predictive maintenance.

We are now entering an exciting phase as we scale our technology and accelerate market adoption. To support this growth, we are hiring talented individuals to join our team. Over the next months, we plan to scale the size of the company, making this a unique moment to join Pipein and help shape the future of our technology.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with a frontend focus to take ownership of the development of the next generation of our web platform.

This is not a role focused on isolated features. You will play a central role in shaping and building the next evolution of our platform, turning raw inspection and sensor data into tools that engineers can use to analyze assets, interpret results, and make decisions.

You will lead frontend architecture while contributing across the full stack, working on APIs, data flows, and system design. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product and domain experts to translate complex workflows into intuitive, high-performance tools.

This is a high-impact, high-ownership role in a fast-moving deep-tech environment.

What You Will Do

* Platform Development & Architecture: You will take a central role in shaping and building the next evolution of our web platform. You will design and implement the frontend platform, define its architecture, and build scalable applications for complex data workflows, with a strong focus on building reusable component systems
* Full-Stack Development: You won’t work only on the frontend. You will contribute across the stack, working on APIs and backend services, and designing how data flows from processing pipelines to the user interface. You will ensure the platform remains performant and reliable when handling large datasets and interactive data visualization.
* Data & Visualization Tools: You will build tools that allow engineers to explore, analyze, and interact with inspection data. This includes developing interactive interfaces and, where needed, more advanced visualization interfaces for spatial, sensor, or time-series data.
* Product & User Experience: You will work closely with product and domain experts to translate real-world workflows into usable tools. You will contribute to UX decisions and help design interfaces that make complex engineering data understandable and actionable.
* Technical Ownership: This is a high-ownership role. You will select and evolve the technology stack, take responsibility for architectural decisions, define engineering best practices, and ensure the platform remains maintainable, scalable, and performant as data volume and product complexity grow.

✅ Who We Are Looking For

* A Builder & Problem Solver: You have experience building systems end-to-end, not just contributing to isolated features. You are comfortable taking part in defining and shaping platforms, and can take loosely defined problems and turn them into structured solutions, even when requirements are not fully specified and evolve over time.
* Strong Frontend & Full-Stack Mindset: You are comfortable designing frontend architectures and building complex interfaces for non-trivial workflows. While frontend is your strength, you understand backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines well enough to work effectively across the stack.
* Ownership & Autonomy: You take responsibility for what you build. You don’t wait for detailed instructions: when you see a problem or an opportunity to improve something, you take initiative and move things forward.
* Pragmatic & Product-Oriented: You balance technical quality with speed and impact. You care about building tools that are actually used, and you are comfortable making trade-offs to deliver value.
* Practical Engineering Mindset: You don’t just build clean interfaces, you build systems that work in real-world conditions. You are comfortable dealing with complex data flows, evolving system requirements, and performance trade-offs, focusing on making solutions that are reliable and effective in practice.
* Resilient & Hands-On: This is a startup. Priorities evolve, and you will work across different parts of the system. You are comfortable switching context, taking on different types of work, and staying effective in a fast-moving environment.

Education & work experience

* 5+ years of experience building real systems: You have solid experience developing web applications and working on complex systems or platforms, not just isolated features. Experience contributing to or building a product from an early stage is a strong plus.
* Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Alternative educational paths will be considered if supported by strong hands-on experience.
* Strong frontend engineering experience: You have extensive hands-on experience designing frontend architectures and building complex interfaces using modern frameworks (e.g. React, Next.js, Vue, Angular) and TypeScript.
* Full-stack capability: While frontend is your strength, you have hands-on experience with backend systems and APIs (e.g. Python or Node.js), and understand how data flows through a system.
* Experience with data-intensive systems: You have worked on applications that handle large datasets and require attention to performance and responsiveness.
* Linux knowledge: You are comfortable working in a Linux environment and using the command line as part of your workflow
* English Fluency (B2 or higher): The day to day and all internal communications will be in English. Essential for collaboration with the team and external partners.

Nice to Have

* Data visualization experience: Experience working on visualization tools, especially with spatial, sensor, or scientific data.
* Product or SaaS experience: Experience working on SaaS platforms or data-heavy applications.
* Database familiarity: Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, time-series, or NoSQL systems.
* Infrastructure & deployment: Experience working with Docker and cloud environments (e.g. AWS).

Why Join Pipein?

* Build a real product from an early stage: You will play a key role in shaping the next evolution of our platform, working on problems that are still being defined and where your decisions have a direct impact on the product.
* Work on non-trivial engineering problems: You will deal with complex data, real-world constraints, and systems that need to perform reliably at scale. This is not a typical CRUD or dashboard application.
* Impact and ownership: Your work will go directly into a product used in real-world scenarios. You will have ownership over technical decisions and see the impact of what you build.
* Direct exposure to decisions and strategy: You will work closely with the founders and be involved in technical and product decisions, contributing to how the platform evolves and how priorities are defined.

What We Offer

* Competitive Salary: A package aligned with your experience and responsibilities, with a typical range of €45,000 - €55,000 gross per year (RAL), and room to grow as the company scales.
* Flexible Working Hours: Flexibility in working hours, with the possibility of partial smart working when compatible with project needs and team collaboration.
* A core role in a growing startup: You will be part of a small team, taking ownership of key parts of the platform and contributing directly to how the product evolves as the company grows.

Selection process

Our hiring process is designed to be straightforward, and fair, giving both you and us a clear understanding of whether there is a strong mutual fit.

* Introductory Interview (30 minutes): An initial conversation focused on your background, experience, motivation, and cultural fit, helping us understand how you approach problems and what drives you. It also gives you the opportunity to assess whether the role, team, and company are the right fit for you.
* Technical Interview (45 minutes): A deeper discussion with members of our technical team. We will explore your hands-on experience, core technical skills to understand how you think and work.
* In-Person Technical Interview (2-3 hours): You will spend some time with the team working on real problems. This final interview is designed to assess your problem-solving approach, technical skills, and attitude, while giving you firsthand exposure to the team and everyday working environment to determine whether Pipein is the right fit for you.

Please send a short cover letter to, explaining your experience and interest in the role.
