So if you are passionate about space and ready to take your ambition to new heights join us in our global mission to push the boundaries of what’s possible! /p pD‑Orbit is seeking a Senior Robotic System Engineer to join our team. /p pIn this position you’ll lead system design, develop advanced controls, oversee integration and manage key collaborations and subcontractors driving innovation in challenging space environments. /p h3Key Responsibilities Tasks /h3 ul liLead space robotic system design from architecture to system‑level engineering. /li liManage robotic project timelines and deliverables ensuring milestones are met. /li liOversee the development of advanced control algorithms for challenging space conditions. /li liConduct detailed analysis modeling and simulation for performance prediction and design optimization in harsh environments. /li liOversee rigorous integration and testing of robotic hardware and software ensuring space‑grade compliance. /li liCollaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software, GNC). /li liManage international subcontractors serving as the main contact leading technical meetings and tracking documentation / actions. /li liDefine technical requirements specifications and verification plans for robotic systems. /li liParticipate in design reviews and problem‑solving to drive continuous improvement. /li liStay updated with advancements in robotics space technology and AI. /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liMasters or Ph.D. in Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. /li li7 years of experience in the design, development and testing of robotic systems with a strong focus on space applications. /li liExperience with space‑qualified hardware and software development processes (e.g. ECSS standards). /li liProven ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced highly collaborative environment. /li liExcellent problem‑solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. /li liStrong communication and interpersonal skills capable of clearly articulating complex technical concepts. /li liProfessional proficiency in English. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liProficiency in programming languages commonly used in robotics (e.g. C, Python, Matlab, Simulink). /li liExperience with manipulator robot and custom robotic systems. /li liExperience with robotic simulation tools (e.g. Simscape, ROS, Gazebo, V‑REP). /li liFluency in Italian. /li /ul h3Hiring Process /h3 ul liApplication review: We go through all applications but will only reach out to candidates who closely match what we’re looking for. /li liFirst chat: Selected candidates will have an initial meeting with the people team to get to know each other and talk through mutual expectations, motivation for change and goals. /li liTechnical interviews: Next you’ll have one or two technical interviews focused on your skills and how you approach challenges relevant to the role. /li liOffer: If all goes well we send you an offer!
