Steer is on the lookout for a Senior/Principal Consultant to join our dynamic Ports & Maritime Advisory team. In this role, you will engage with both public and private sector clients, delivering innovative solutions that enhance the operational and strategic landscapes of ports and maritime activities.
Your responsibilities will include providing strategic consultancy services related to port infrastructure, marine logistics, transportation networks, and sustainability initiatives. You will leverage your expertise to conduct in-depth analyses, develop economic and financial models, and produce recommendations that drive project success and client satisfaction.
As a key member of our team, you will lead projects, mentor junior consultants, and foster strong relationships with clients while contributing to the growth of our consultancy capabilities in the maritime sector.
Requirements
Key Qualifications and Experience:
* 5+ years of experience in consultancy roles focused on ports, maritime logistics, or related fields.
* Strong understanding of port operations, trade flows, and associated maritime regulations.
* Proficient in quantitative and qualitative analytical methods, with the ability to develop detailed economic and financial models.
* Exceptional project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex maritime projects.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
* Fluency in English is essential; additional language proficiency (Italian and/or Spanish) is preferrable.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with industry-specific software tools.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in commercial Due Diligence, maritime economic analysis, feasibility studies, or investment appraisal.
* Background in sustainability practices within the maritime sector.
* Previous experience in client relationship management and business development.
Educational Background:
* A relevant degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field.
