About the role
We are looking for a curious and motivated Automation Engineer Intern who wants to start their career in industrial automation and control systems.
During this internship, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and get hands-on experience in the design, development, and commissioning of automation systems used in real industrial environments.
You will learn how to translate customer needs into automation solutions, support system integration activities, and participate in projects from design to on-site commissioning.
This is a great opportunity to gain practical exposure to PLC programming, HMI development, control systems integration, and customer-facing engineering activities.
What you will do
As an Automation Engineer Intern, you will support the team in:
• Assisting in the development and design of control systems using PLC and HMI software for new and existing applications
• Supporting the integration of new automation functionalities based on customer requirements
• Contributing to the integration of electrical and automation controls into existing systems
• Collaborating with engineers during system testing and troubleshooting
• Supporting commissioning activities at customer sites (when applicable)
• Assisting in the preparation of technical documentation, system specifications, and wiring diagrams
• Learning how to analyze customer needs and propose automation solutions
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Service, Engineering, and Application teams
Requisiti
Requisiti obbligatori• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or currently pursuing) in: Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or Control Systems Engineering
• Fluency in both Italian and English languages
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar is a plus)
• Familiarity with HMI or SCADA systems
• Understanding of electrical schematics and control system principles
• Basic knowledge of industrial sensors, actuators, and instrumentation
• Interest in industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP)
