Overview
Handling & Logistics Operational Support Engineer Professional - Taranto. Come join the Vestas Blades Process Engineering organization. This team embeds skilled engineering into the manufacturing value stream to enable faster decision-making, process ownership, and accountability within a culture of excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate continuous improvement on Handling and Transport processes across the manufacturing sites.
- Analyze AS IS and future state and be motivated to improve activities.
- Create and maintain a plan for improvement.
- Create the needed Engineering Change Notices (CNs).
- Lead improvement tasks and projects.
- Serve as a case handler on escalation processes when factories cannot progress production, requiring urgent and often time-critical resolutions.
- Help build a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility.
- Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods such as the 5 Whys and Fishbone Diagrams.
- Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools, Lean, and related methodologies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent; GB Lean certification.
- Experience: About 6-8 years in similar roles as described above.
- Worked with: Leading improvement tasks; analyzing Handling & Logistics processes; transport tool specification; process flow creation; focus on optimization and standardization within manufacturing processes using the mentioned toolbox.

- Technical, analytical, and operational competencies related to Handling & Transport and continuous improvement.
- Skills in process design and optimization for Handling & Transport.
- Willingness to work in a factory environment to understand and solve problems.
- Data-driven decision making and use of data analytics tools (Lean).
- Experience with 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to identify and solve handling or logistics issues.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, with strong organizational discipline.
- Ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones with stakeholders; customer-oriented and aware of the full business value chain.
