We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Group Finance Controller to oversee the financial operations of the Italian legal entities (manufacturing site). This role is responsible for leading all accounting, accounts payable, and statutory reporting activities, while ensuring compliance with both IFRS and local GAAP. The rola will manage a small team, support Group-level planning activities, and act as a key business partner to the manufacturing site leadership. Will report also to a CFO abroad.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all accounting operations for the Italian entities, including accounts payable, general ledger, fixed assets, and month-end closings.
Prepare and ensure accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Italian GAAP.
Manage the day-to-day finance team, ensuring timely and compliant execution of all finance tasks.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing timely and reliable financial data and variance analysis.
Act as the finance business partner to the manufacturing site head, providing regular and consistent reporting on actuals vs. plan, including variance analysis and identification of key business drivers (e.g., production costs, yields, overheads).
Ensure full compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory obligations, working closely with external advisors.
Coordinate and manage external and internal audits.
Monitor and improve internal controls, finance processes, and ERP system effectiveness.
Support treasury, cash flow forecasting, and intercompany reconciliations.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
CPA or equivalent accounting qualification is required.
Minimum 10/15 years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, or audit, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience managing AP and general accounting teams.
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and Italian GAAP, including tax and statutory reporting
Hands-on, pragmatic approach with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Fluent in Italian and English.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is an advantage.
