Purpose: The Assistant Manager is second in command to the Store Manager and assists them by ensuring an exceptional experience is delivered to all clients including aftercare. The Assistant Manager helps to maximize store productivity and profitability, leads by example, sets the tone on the sales floor. The role will support with teambuilding, staff development and provides regular feedback to the store team that will result in exceeding store goals. The Assistant manager should be fully capable of looking after the store in Store Manager absence. Commercial and Sales Takes ownership and accountability for store and personal productivity. Creates a high energy, sales and service focused environment at all times. Consistently manages physical store environment to ensure that visual merchandising and store maintenance standards are met. Support the Store Manager with providing training and coaching for team members to help them achieve their individual sales targets and KPI’s. Record and update sales performance, such as sell-throughs, product feedback, trade feedback. Support with the setup of two major seasonal sales events and additional sales events as may occur. Provide both analytical and qualitative feedback to wider business and commercial stakeholders in the absence of Store Manager. Provide analysis and feedback on clientele and product line performances, in weekly/monthly reports in the absence of the Store Manager. Leadership and mentoring Support the Store Manager in recruiting, training, and developing team members to ensure high levels of product knowledge and customer service. Motivate and inspire a team to achieve individual and team sales targets. Able to influence others to gain support to achieve goals and complete projects. Able to maintain composure even when faced with tough situations. Strategy and analysis Assists in developing plans to address key business issues and utilises plans to impact business and achieve desired results. Assists in the collating, analyzing, reporting, and evaluating sales, working in conjunction with the Store Manager Identifies potential obstacles or issues and provides Store Manager with solutions to overcome. Ensures all store operational procedures are performed accurately and in a timely manner including stock maintenance - deliveries, replenishment, transfers, e-commerce. Demonstrates effective time management skills. Provide exceptional client experience and service; provide personalised and timely after-sales service to clients, dealing effectively with client complaints. Develop strong, long-lasting, commercial relationships with clients, establishing a regular client base and providing support to team members to ensure all sales opportunities are optimized. Develop relationships with surrounding businesses and brands to help grow and develop the MB business and assist in the management of special client events. Operational excellence Help oversee daily store operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising and maintaining store standards. Skills and Experience Required: +2 years’ experience in a retail management role, preferably in the luxury industry. Proven Commercial awareness and business acumen within the luxury retail sector. Excellent communication skills and a passion for luxury products and customer service. Excellent analytical, report-writing skills, accuracy and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
