Overview
Experteer Overview. As Winding Program Technical Lead, you’ll steer a portfolio of R&D winding projects across power transformers, HVDC converter transformers, and shunt reactors. You’ll mentor engineers, set technical standards, and coordinate planning, budgeting, and risk management to deliver innovative winding solutions. You’ll collaborate with global R&D centers, factories, and partners to drive continuous improvement and align with Hitachi Energy’s mission in energy infrastructure. This role offers global exposure, leadership impact, and the chance to shape winding technology at scale.
Responsibilities
* Lead winding program/projects within Power Transformer and coordinate cross-site execution
* Develop and drive technical implementations in windings, mentoring engineers
* Write and maintain winding design standards within TrafoStar concept
* Plan, prioritize, budget, and align resources for winding initiatives
* Manage risks, dependencies, and program milestones
* Foster collaboration with global R&D centers, factories, insulation centers, universities, and partners
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Qualifications
* 5+ years in winding engineering for power transformers, HVDC converter transformers, and shunt reactors
* Proven track record leading complex R&D projects or programs
* Strong understanding of product development and winding manufacturing
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management
* Fluent in English
* Engineering degree; PMI certificate (PMP) is a plus
