The KION Group is on its way to becoming the only true global player and market leader in the field of automated and robotized intralogistics solutions and products. Due to expansion of the Intralogistics team, we are currently looking for a Solution Designer Automation to join our team.
The primary focus of this role is to identify all technical elements in the offer.
He/She focuses on interfaces between technical discipline, internal and external partners, ensuring that the project scope is well specified and achieved. The Solution Designer Auto-ILS is responsible for all technical aspects in the sales phase: technical clarification, best technical automation concept, corresponding cost price calculation, project schedule.
Role Purpose:
• Analysis and assessment of customer requests on (technical) feasibility and potential solutions
• Specification, monitoring and documentation of material flow simulations for intralogistics systems
• Analysis of simulation data, optimization and consulting
• Translate customers request into a smart, intelligent, creative and value adding system design
• Coordinate and structure data & information flow, necessary to offer the solution
• Define the corresponding cost price calculation and deliver input for the quotation
• Guide and coordinate the sales engineering & design process during the overall sales cycle
• Support the Sales Manager during customer meetings and presentations
• Support correct and timely order entry and project handover in case of order
• Ensuring that technical subcontract specification and technical liaison are completed
• Support of the Sales Manager in the preparation of Go/No Go, Bid/No Bid, Final Offer Release decisions, T&C's, Contract Management etc.
Tasks and Qualifications:
Who Are We Looking For:
1. Previous experience in the role or similar
2. Master’s degree in Engineering
3. Knowledge of CAD/technical drawings
4. IT Literate – MS Office
5. Confident communicator to all levels of stakeholder both internally (e.g., Directors) and externally (e.g., customers)
6. Good understanding of typical capital investment topics, such as identifying business cases and ROI.
7. Analytical and problem-solving skills are among your strengths
8. You are able to plan, organize and document multiple project activities
9. Advanced knowledge in written and spoken English
10. Availability for travel in Italy up to 50% of time
