Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and hands‑on Service Engineer (m/f/d) to join our global service organization. In this role, you will be responsible for commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and service activities on board vessels and at shipyards worldwide. Working both independently and as part of larger project teams, you will ensure that customer systems are installed, commissioned, and maintained to the highest quality and safety standards. The position offers extensive customer interaction, international travel opportunities, and the chance to work with advanced maritime automation, monitoring, and control systems throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform field service activities according to approved work plans and project schedules
* Conduct troubleshooting, testing, adjustments, calibration, and fine‑tuning of equipment and systems
* Perform major repairs, overhauls, upgrades, and retrofit activities independently when required
* Execute installation, commissioning, and pre‑commissioning activities for maritime systems and equipment
* Handover completed systems and solutions to customers, shipyards, and vessel operators
* Lead and coordinate assigned service teams during on‑site execution when required
* Interact directly with customers and provide technical support throughout service activities
* Communicate progress and status updates to internal and external stakeholders
* Create accurate service reports and technical documentation following work completion
* Ensure all work is performed in accordance with NACOS Marine Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards as well as customer site procedures
* Identify customer needs and proactively promote relevant service offerings, upgrades, and technical solutions
* Support commissioning and service activities onboard cruise and merchant vessels worldwide
Key Requirements
* Technical degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Marine Engineering, or a related field
* Minimum 2 years of experience working onboard cruise vessels, merchant vessels, or within the maritime industry
* Experience with commissioning, installation, maintenance, or field service activities for marine or industrial systems
* Strong technical understanding of electrical, electronic, automation, and control systems
* Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and system‑related issues independently
* Experience working with vessel systems such as fire detection systems, bilge systems, monitoring systems, tank level monitoring, or similar marine applications is considered an advantage
* Strong customer‑service mindset and ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project and technical teams
* Willingness and ability to travel internationally and work onboard vessels when required
* Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
* Hands‑on, proactive, and solution‑oriented approach to work
