You will work as a member of the hardware development team in our Optics R&D Center in Milano / Vimercate. As a PCB Physical Designer, you will be part of the hardware development team in Vimercate, embedded within a worldwide Optical Research and Development organization.
Responsibilities:
* Own designs from initial specifications through completion.
* Generate comprehensive documentation for manufacturability, including gerber files (ODB++ format), fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and all supporting documents.
* Collaborate with other functional groups (product design, electrical engineering, operations) to define and execute design methodology.
* Implement design standards, including DFA, DFM, and DFT, to meet manufacturing requirements.
* Provide library support, understanding parts creation, pad stacks, spacing, and clearances.
* Participate in meetings with manufacturers or new PCB material suppliers.
Key Skills and Experience:
* At least 5 years of PCB design experience, with comprehensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing requirements.
* Proficiency with Mentor Expedition tools (Concurrent mode, Layout Team Server/Client, Hyperlink).
* Experience in Power Simulation.
* Experience in Signal Integrity and Thermal Simulation is a plus.
* Ability to manually route complex multi-layer PCBs with digital and analog circuitry, including microcontrollers and fine-pitch BGAs.
* Familiarity with high-speed frequency layout.
* Knowledge of PCB stack-up related to impedance, crosstalk, and capacitance.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes, procedures, and design requirements for board fabrication and assembly.
* Fluency in spoken and written English.
* Good team player.
