IIT is committed to tackling the most urgent social challenges of our era through science and technology, research, and innovation, always keeping people at the center. /p pHeadquartered in Genoa, with a network of 11 centers across Italy and 2 in the United States, IIT carries out truly interdisciplinary research ranging from neuroscience and cognition to robotics and AI, as well as nanotechnology and materials science. The conviction is that only by embracing diversity can science achieve its full potential. /p pbThe team you will join /b /p pSelected candidates will join the bRehab Technologies Lab /b at IIT, coordinated by Dr. Matteo Laffranchi, which develops robotic technologies for the rehabilitation and assistance of people with motor disabilities. /p pIn this lab, robotics is integrated with neuroscience, rehabilitative medicine, and interaction design to create devices capable of interfacing with the human body and adapting to the specific needs of patients. Projects are always driven by real clinical requirements and developed in collaboration with a network of national and international partners, both medical and institutional. /p pThe team works on solutions that combine robotics, medicine, and human‑centered design, adopting approaches based on digital health, embodiment, and active engagement (gameability). /p pFor more information about the lab’s activities, research lines, and developed devices: /p h3Your role and responsibilities /h3 pYou will be involved in the electronic development of cutting‑edge medical robotic devices, playing an active role in the design, optimisation, and testing of hardware components for control, sensing, and communication. /p bMain responsibilities include: /b ul liDesign, optimisation, and testing of electronic boards for actuator control, sensors, signal conditioning, communication, and power management. /li liPreparation of detailed technical documentation related to board production, cabling, and system testing. /li liDaily collaboration with mechanical, software, and control engineers to ensure proper integration of electronic components within the robotic system. /li /ul h3Candidate profile /h3 pWe are seeking a candidate with a background in Electronic Engineering and strong motivation to work on innovative robotic devices for rehabilitation. /p ul liPhD or MSc in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields /li liExcellent skills in electronic design, simulation, testing, and debugging /li liKnowledge of state‑of‑the‑art electronic hardware /li liHands‑on laboratory skills (soldering, cabling, prototyping) /li liWorking knowledge of English /li liFamiliarity with the Microsoft Office Suite /li /ul pPreferred (non‑mandatory) skills: /p ul liExperience in robotics electronics /li liWorking knowledge of PCB development tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, Eagle, or equivalent) /li liProactive attitude and results‑oriented mindset /li liAbility to adapt to multidisciplinary and international environments /li liCapacity to work independently when necessary and collaborate effectively within a team /li liAnalytical reasoning and a growth mindset, with curiosity and eagerness to learn continuously /li /ul pPreference will be given to candidates with a PhD or comparable research experience. /p h3What we offer /h3 pThe position is offered on a fixed‑term contract until bDecember 31, 2026 /b. /p pThe compensation package includes: /p ul liAnnual gross salary between b€26,000 and €35,000 /b, with the possibility of a bonus, defined according to role and contract; final RAL will be commensurate with skills and experience /li liPrivate healthcare coverage, depending on role and contract /li liUp to 2 days of remote work per week and flexible working hours, depending on the role /li liMeal vouchers, depending on the employment contract /li /ul pCandidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree who have not resided in Italy for the past 3 years and return to take up employment, provided they meet specific legal requirements, may benefit from a b50% income tax reduction /b. /p pFor more information: /p h3More than just salary /h3 pJoining the Rehab Technologies Lab means working on cutting‑edge technologies that combine robotics, neuroscience, medicine, and design to help people regain autonomy and quality of life.
