This role offers the opportunity to lead a small, high‑performing engineering team while actively contributing to product development. Accountabilities
* Lead and manage a team of 3–5 engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback
* Act as the spokesperson for the team, ensuring strong team dynamics and a supportive, high‑performance culture
* Participate in product development, contributing actively alongside the team while dedicating ~30% of time to leadership responsibilities
* Oversee hiring processes, onboarding, and career development for team members
* Foster continuous improvement in engineering practices, workflows, and collaboration
* Promote alignment with organizational values, team goals, and broader engineering strategies
* Support cross‑functional collaboration with product, design, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient execution and delivery
Requirements
* Proven experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 people
* Strong backend development expertise, ideally with Elixir/Phoenix or comparable technologies
* Solid knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and modern development workflows
* Excellent communication skills and ability to inspire confidence in the team
* Strong understanding of team dynamics and ability to cultivate a collaborative environment
* Highly organized with attention to detail and focus on efficient processes
