 
        Position Senior Lecturer / Lecturer / Assistant Lecturer – Teacher of Arts (High school) Philosophy of the Arts (HKU) Department & Work Type Department: School of Biomedical Engineering (SBME) Work type: Full-time About the School The School of Biomedical Engineering (SBME) at HKU, newly established in 2025, is a unique academic initiative supported by the Faculties of Medicine, Engineering, Dentistry and Science. It offers cutting‑edge programmes and research opportunities that blend engineering, medicine and clinical expertise, with strong industry links and a global outlook. SBME empowers students to become future leaders in medical technology and to help shape the future of healthcare. Responsibilities Design and teach engaging courses in biomedical engineering across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, inspiring the next generation of leaders while advancing knowledge in this field. Develop teaching materials, conduct tutorials and demonstrations, support curriculum design, and deliver hands‑on, project‑based, and active‑learning courses for undergraduate students. Qualifications Applicants should have a Master’s Degree (preferably a Doctoral Degree) in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology or a related discipline. Strong track record of teaching, including: Foundational BME courses Project‑based courses (including Final Year Projects) BME summer training courses Basic electrical and mechanical engineering (electricity and electronics, basic mechanics, robotics etc.) Fundamental Biology & Chemistry (molecular biology, biomaterials, tissue engineering) Artificial intelligence & Data Science related to biomedicine (machine learning, computational modelling, digital health etc.) Interfacing Engineering with Clinical Medicine (linking biomedical, mechanical, and electrical engineering with clinical disciplines such as orthopaedics, ophthalmology, surgery, radiology, neurology and others) Experience Levels Senior Lecturer: at least 10 years of teaching experience; Lecturer: at least 3 years; Assistant Lecturer: may be considered with less experience. The appointment includes contract‑end gratuity and a university retirement benefits scheme (up to 15 % of basic salary for Senior Lecturer/Lecturer, up to 10 % for Assistant Lecturer).
