How You’ll Help Us Connect the World :
As a Supplier Quality Engineer - II, you will be responsible for supplier quality management as part of the Global Supplier Quality Department for the EMEA region. You will work closely with Operations, Operations Quality, Engineering, and Procurement teams to ensure consistent supplier performance and the development of new suppliers and parts for PDP & PTP projects. This role will be based in Agrate, Italy.
You Will Make an Impact By :
* Addressing issues in operations caused by material quality and analyzing them with cross-functional teams.
* Resolving material quality issues promptly and working with suppliers on sustainable improvements using methodologies like 8D, revising control plans, PFMEA, work instructions, inspection plans, and check sheets.
* Auditing suppliers' systems, processes, and products, and driving closure on non-conformances and observations to improve supplier performance.
* Collaborating with procurement on new part development and supplier onboarding, ensuring first-time quality through APQP and PPAP documentation, including PSW sign-off.
* Ensuring First Article Inspection is correctly performed at the supplier end and in the incoming quality control lab, with the ability to identify appropriate inspection methods, including GD&T and CMM reports.
* Engaging with cross-functional teams to drive results and improvements, understanding stakeholder issues, and making decisions aligned with company processes.
* Driving design for manufacturing reviews and establishing part inspection standards to ensure compliance with fit, finish, function, traceability, and packaging requirements.
* Working with engineering to review and implement design changes for manufacturability and inspection feasibility.
* Executing run-at-rate and safe launch plans for new parts, conducting SPC, MSA, and other statistical analyses to ensure quality in production.
* Utilizing SAP and analytics tools like Power BI and BO reports to monitor performance and derive insights.
* Leading quality improvement projects, including Six Sigma DMAIC, lean initiatives, and cost reduction through VAVE.
* Reviewing supplier performance metrics, preparing health reports, and collaborating with teams to address delivery and quality concerns.
* Encouraging and leading suppliers in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizens.
Required Qualifications for Consideration :
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
* Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO9000 / TL9000 / IATF16949).
* Demonstrated competencies and strong interpersonal skills.
* Excellent command of written and spoken English.
* Proficiency in quality tools such as Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, DOE, control plans, root cause analysis, and QC tools.
* Experience with system and process audits.
* Knowledge of GD&T, inspection methods, CMM, VMM, and other measurement tools.
* Familiarity with reliability, environmental, and qualification testing programs.
* Assertiveness, decision-making, and communication skills.
* Experience with APQP and PPAP processes.
* Experience in manufacturing processes like sheet metal stamping, welding, plating, die casting, CNC machining, electrical components, and RF products is highly desirable.
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
