Hunters Group, on behalf of a leading company in the packaging industry, is looking for a IT Functional Analyst – Finance.
Role Summary
The IT Functional Analyst – Finance is the IT reference point for EMEA Finance processes. The role owns functional analysis and process design across the full Finance value chain, translates business requirements into ERP solutions, and ensures operational continuity on legacy platforms while actively contributing to the design and rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365 FCO.
The candidate acts as a trusted partner to Group and Country Finance leaders, internal developers, and external implementation partners, guaranteeing scalability, internal control compliance, and adoption across EMEA countries.
Key Responsibilities
* Finance Functional Analysis and Process Design Lead end-to-end functional analysis and process design across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, and Closing C Reporting; ensure design choices are scalable, usable, and compliant with internal control and statutory standards
* Requirements to ERP Solutions Translate Finance business requirements into ERP solutions on the current platforms and on the future Microsoft Dynamics 365 FCO target architecture; drive fit-gap analysis, solution options, and to-be process documentation
* Delivery and Vendor Coordination Collaborate with internal developers and external partners to manage enhancements, releases, and issue resolution on local Finance systems; review functional specifications, oversee testing, and ensure deployment quality
* Finance Application Support and Problem Resolution Provide second/third-level (L2/L3) functional support for Finance applications across EMEA, acting as the primary escalation point for incidents affecting GL, sub-ledgers, intercompany, and closing processes; perform structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis, coordinate timely resolution with internal teams and vendors, and ensure operational continuity during critical business cycles such as month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes; collaborate with the IT Service Desk to maintain prioritized ticket workflows, track resolution SLAs, and drive recurring-issue elimination through permanent fixes and knowledge base updates
* Microsoft Dynamics Transition Support Contribute to the EMEA transition to Microsoft Dynamics ERP: data and process readiness, template design alignment, country localization requirements, cutover planning, and hypercare for Finance scope
* Internal Control, Compliance and Audit Ensure documentation and governance of Finance/ERP processes, including change requests, functional specifications, segregation-of-duties considerations, and audit-related evidence; act as functional counterpart for internal and external auditors
* User Adoption, Training and Stakeholder Engagement Support user adoption and training activities for Finance users across EMEA countries; act as escalation point for complex functional issues, balancing local needs with regional standards; prepare materials and facilitate recurring State of Work sessions with Group and Country Finance leaders to track progress vs. roadmap, KPIs, risks/decisions, and follow-ups
* Continuous Improvement and Data Quality Identify proactive and reactive improvement opportunities across Finance processes and supporting systems, building business cases when relevant; support data quality initiatives across Finance master data (Chart of Accounts, vendors, customers, fixed assets, cost centers), driving harmonization and remediation in line with the EMEA data strategy
Requirements Minimum Qualifications
* 5-7 years of experience as an IT Functional Analyst with a strong Finance domain focus in multi-country, multi-company environment
* Deep, hands‐on knowledge of core Finance processes: GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, Period‐End Close, Statutory and Group Reporting
* Solid experience with at least one enterprise ERP (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, JDE, AS/400-based platforms) including configuration and functional design
* Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, statutory accounting principles, and audit requirements (e.g., IFRS / local GAAPs, SOX‐like control environments)
* Proven ability to write functional specifications, lead UAT, and govern releases through structured change management
* Fluent in English; working proficiency in Italian
* Availability to be onsite in Milan 3 days/week and to travel across EMEA when required
Preferred Qualifications
* Direct experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (implementation, rollout, or run)
* Knowledge of Dataverse, Power Platform, and the Microsoft data stack is a strong plus
* Experience supporting ERP harmonization / single-template programs across multiple countries and legal entities
* Exposure to MCA integration of acquired entities into a Finance ERP template
* Familiarity with consolidation and EPM tools (e.g., Tagetik, OneStream, Hyperion, BPC) and tax/e‐invoicing frameworks across EMEA jurisdictions
* Additional European languages (French, Spanish, German, Dutch) appreciated
* Certifications in Microsoft Dynamics 365 FCO, ITIL, or relevant Finance/audit qualifications are a plus
