The responsibility of the Production Supervisor is to manage production activities and the production team. The Production Supervisor provides the Plant Manager with timely advice and solutions on issues associated with AST operations and developments. This role operates effectively in a fast‑paced environment and is able to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the site operations team and for all day‑to‑day activities carried out on site, including demand forecasting activities related to customers and products. The role involves creating and maintaining forecast models covering all site demand and resource plans, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Sales. The Production Supervisor ensures delivery requirements are met while upholding Safety, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial objectives. The Production Supervisor is also responsible for monitoring projects assigned by the Plant Manager. Duties Operations
Plan and organize warehouse activities. Ensure proper organization, cleanliness, and housekeeping of the warehouse and dock pits. Manage document archiving activities. Oversee waste bin emptying and waste management processes. Manage reserves and damages: Follow up on reserves recorded at goods receipt. Record carrier reserves on collection slips and notify customers when required. In case of product deterioration or damage, promptly notify the Quality Department.
Purchasing
Create and process selected purchase orders. Manage inventories of production consumables. Ensure receipt control and verification of selected supplies.
Safety and Security
Monitor safety and security of the facility on a daily basis. Ensure the safety of all personnel present on site. Ensure compliance with internal safety procedures and instructions. Maintain safety and security systems in optimal working condition. Ensure compliance with applicable radiation protection regulations. Perform periodic internal safety tests and inspections.
Duties - cont'd Internal and External Interactions
Interface with Technical Assistance as required. Ensure business continuity in the absence of the Plant Manager. Respond to customer inquiries regarding the acceptance of products.
Human Resources Management
Manage production staff and daily workforce operations. Monitor and track daily working hours. Define staffing needs, including temporary labor requirements. Collect employee development requests and identify training needs. Deliver periodic internal retraining sessions. Manage the Production Department and assess employee skills and competencies.
Maintenance Coordination
Optimize maintenance of the source in the treatment position to avoid production disruptions. Coordinate with the Maintenance Department and the Plant Manager to ensure adequate time for preventive maintenance activities.
Other Duties
Support investigations and activities requested by the Quality Department. Provide operational support to production staff when needed. Act as LEAN & 5S lead for the warehouse and workshop areas, supporting production KPIs.
Education Degree
High School Diploma or GED
Specific Work Requirements
Proven experience in team management. Knowledge of transport and logistics processes, including goods receipt, loading operations, and handling of dangerous goods. Strong technical expertise, with a high level of competency in: Mechanical systems Electrical systems Information Technology Knowledge of irradiation processes, including gamma irradiation technical and production activities. Expertise in radiation protection; qualification as a Person Competent in Radiation Protection is required (relevant diploma mandatory). Knowledge and practical experience in LEAN management and 5S methodologies. Proficiency in spoken and written English.
