Your Challenge As an Operations Research Scientist some of your main activities will be: Assist in the design, development, and implementation of optimization models to enhance Siemens Mobility’s planning software. Employ mathematical programming software tools to devise solutions. Collaborate with senior staff and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and objectives. Analyze data and take part in workshops to support the development of novel optimization approaches. Stay current with the latest research and trends in optimization and operations research. Actively seek ways to improve models, algorithms, and processes Engage in international projects and collaborate with teams from various countries Required entry qualifications: You have less than 30 years of age, in accordance with the Italian apprenticeship contract Recent PhD or PhD candidate nearing completion in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields with a thesis focused on optimization. Candidates with Master’s degree candidates may also be considered. Strong foundation in mathematical programming and familiarity with optimization software tools (e.g., CPLEX, Gurobi, etc). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex ideas clearly.
