About the Position
We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to join the Body and Zonal Engineering Product Line team. This position is based at our office in Corbetta (or eventually Torino). As the TPM at Marelli, you will:
- Be responsible for Engineering Development (except SW Area if there is a Software Project Manager) for Platform Developments.
- Lead and coordinate the engineering activities of the assigned project(s) based on the Product, ensuring delivery, quality and cost targets are respected.
- Report directly to the Head of the Body and Zonal Engineering Product Line.
- Contribute to the early definition of the product during the Offer Phase as part of the Offer Team.
- Be responsible during RFIs/RFQs which are based on platform developments.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects with top‑down oversight throughout execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
- Create and track a Project Master Time Plan in collaboration with the SPM that respects platform requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
- Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables; coordinate and update the estimation of Engineering Project effort; support the SPM in aligning budget and resource needs and managing specific product development risks.
- Ensure the delivery of MVPs, POCs and platform according to agreed time plans with Product Management and Top Management.
- Prepare and communicate weekly status reports to top management.
- Participate in benchmark analysis activity transferring best design practices to the internal team.
- Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Check and update the reuse of standard components and solution availability.
- Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meetings with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.
- Propose Change Requests as far as product (engineering perimeter) is concerned in terms of technical, cost and scheduling impact towards Product Management.
- Lead the innovation process securing the deliverables on time.
- Agree with the Product Evaluation department about verification and validation activities, ensuring mature platform developments.
- Ensure best price BOM approach using internal tools and best practice.
- Oversee resource situation and provide related reports to EPL.
- Estimate system performances also defining and using suitable models to define the optimal HW resources budget.
Qualifications
- Electronic Engineering Degree or Information Science Degree.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in technical project management within the automotive field.
- Willingness to travel to the customer, supplier and Marelli locations involved.
