The selected candidate will join the Innovation team and, reporting to the Innovation Formula Manager, will play a key role in shaping the future language of make-up by acting as a catalyst for technical ideas and solutions, anticipating development challenges and translating creative visions into innovative, high-performance formulas, textures and technologies with a strong focus on industrial feasibility and scalability.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities Develop innovative make-up formulations ensuring regulatory compliance and product stability Create formulas from scratch or starting from ingredient lists and sensory briefs, using an agile and exploratory approach Interpret INCI lists and perform reverse engineering activities Anticipate and solve technical challenges related to formulation, stability, compatibility and scale-up Monitor raw material trends, emerging technologies and new market launches, proposing technical improvements Test, develop and integrate new raw materials, collaborating with suppliers and external partners Prepare technical data sheets and detailed reports for project teams Coordinate stability tests and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure industrial feasibility Work closely with Product Concept Team, T&P, R&D, Regulatory and Tech Transfer to ensure smooth formula transfer Participate in industry workshops, supplier exhibitions and innovation-driven events
Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of cosmetic chemistry and make-up formulation Ability to read and interpret INCI lists with a solid understanding of cosmetic regulations Experience in stability, compatibility and performance testing Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate development risks Innovative, curious and open-minded mindset, comfortable with non-standard approaches Ability to work effectively in dynamic and exploratory environments Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills High attention to detail and structured approach to technical documentation
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent professional experience At least 3 years of experience
as a Formulator in a make-up R&D laboratory Good knowledge of the
English language Familiarity with SOPs and IT tools (e.g. COPTIS, ORACLE, ARAS)
