LASERCOMM SYSTEM ENGINEER – ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a LASERCOMM SYSTEM ENGINEER to help shape the future of space optical communications. We seek a results-driven individual who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, particularly in the areas of mechanical engineering, electronics, and operations.
System level activities related to the design and realization of Optical Ground Stations for Laser Communication and/or Satellite Laser Ranging, including:
Establishment and maintenance of relevant performance budgets
Analysis and simulation activities
Contribution to integration and verification activities
Contribution to experimental testing activities in the laboratory and/or field
Identification and Coordination of subcontractors and supervision of their activities
Master’s degree or PhD in engineering or physics
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in optical systems for laser communication
satellite laser ranging
laser beam propagation
laser physics and photonics.
Knowledge of MATLAB/Python/Octave
Good English skills
Laser physics and photonics

Experience with requirement management SW (DOORS and similar)
Contract: permanent
Working time: full time, hybrid as per the internal policy
