PpLocation: Viareggio, IT, 55049 /p pContract Type: Permanent /p pDivision: Mediterranean and Africa Marine /p pLevel of experience: Junior /p pRINA is currently recruiting for a bItaly Hull Plan Approval Engineer /b to join its office in Viareggio, Italy within the bMediterranean and Africa Marine /b Division. /p h3Mission /h3 pThis role focuses on supporting the elaboration of detailed plan and design reviews, resolving issues related to conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable standards are met /p pProjects could include the approval of new building, conversion, and existing vessels and yachts. #LI-MC1 /p h3Key Accountabilities /h3 ul liReview and approve hull structural drawings of ships, offshore units, and marine equipment, in compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations, for new buildings, ships in service, and ship’s conversions. /li liAssist clients during the design and construction phase, providing guidance and support related to structural design. /li liProvide support for the elaboration of detailed marine engineering plan review, in compliance with applicable RINA rules, international conventions and contractual requirements. /li liProvide support for the resolution of issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards. /li liProvide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements, visit sites to take measurements. /li liProvide direct or indirect support to engineers or engineering teams by gathering data, submitting documentation to officials and other day-to-day duties. /li liPrepare the project deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentations and engineering drawings, etc.). /li liTake ownership and responsibility over the financial progress of assigned tasks. /li liUnderstand and apply project management concepts providing feedback to project manager, serve as reference for the escalation of issues. /li liManage simple projects assigned applying project management concepts and techniques. /li liAssess minor structural problems for internal/external clients to determine solutions with minimal supervision. /li liAnswer contractor questions on behalf of the supervising engineer, and serve as liaisons between engineering and construction personnel. /li /ul h3Education /h3 pMaster’s Degree in Engineering General or Naval Engineering /p h3Qualifications /h3 ul li1+ years of experience in ship structural design, shipbuilding, or classification society plan approval. /li liStrong knowledge of ship structure, strength analysis, and material properties. /li liFamiliarity with Classification Society Rules (e.g., RINA, DNV, ABS, BV, LR) and international regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, CSR, IACS URs, IMO codes). /li liExperience with plan approval procedures, including the review of drawings for compliance with class and statutory requirements. /li liProficiency in ship structural analysis tools (e.g., Ansys, FEMAP, MAESTRO, NAPA Steel) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Aveva Marine, ShipConstructor). /li liUnderstanding of finite element analysis (FEA), fatigue assessment, and buckling calculations. /li liFamiliarity with welding standards, shipyard practices, and structural fabrication techniques. /li /ul ul liWORKPLACE DYNAMICS - Resourcefulness in shaping progress and working efficiently. /li liPERSONAL EMPOWERMENT - Ownership for life, work and results, striving to grow professionally and personally. /li liINTERPERSONAL INFLUENCE - Skills and strategies we use to interact effectively with others. /li liDOMAIN BUSINESS ACUMEN - Applying a scientific approach and critical thinking in operations and solution development within area of expertise. /li liFORESIGHT INSIGHT - Context awareness adopting a systemic perspective and informed decision making. /li /ul pRINA is a multinational company providing a wide range of services in the energy, marine, certification, infrastructure mobility, industry, research development sectors.
