We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer to reinforce our Engineering Department at DAnieli MIlano Area
Location: Cinisello Balsamo (MI)
Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting technical specifications, analyzing processes and reference engineering, and producing documentation for each project according to company and international standards.
- Manual sizing and mechanical design of steelmaking machinery, primarily based on welded or cast structures.
- Calculating torque and forces required for the mechanical component’s drive and the stresses resulting from operations.
- Study and detailed drawing with definition of tolerances and fits, materials, surface finishes.
- Bill of materials definition.
- Selection and sizing of commercial components based on mechanical characteristics and machine/plant performance: gearboxes, electric/hydraulic/pneumatic actuators, bearings, rotary and sliding seals, etc.
- Selection of construction materials.
- Evaluation of maintenance requirements for the completed plants.
- Feasibility analysis of solutions during the preliminary design phase, support to sales.
- Supervision and control of design activities, both internal and outsourced.
- Support during commissioning and testing activities.
- Participation in the prototyping phase of new products, performing necessary tests and making modifications for industrialization and product optimization.
- Quality assurance through technical evaluation of purchases and support to the production team.
- Participation and organization of internal meetings within the Technical Department and/or with other departments, aimed at gathering feedback, design reviews, and sharing new technical solutions.
Technical Requirements
- Proficiency with 3D design software such as Autocad and Inventor
- Minimum 7 years of experience in technical design.
- Background in metallurgy or related industries.
- Experience in international projects.
- Participation in technical meetings with clients and suppliers.
- Availability for occasional short/medium-term business travel.
