PpJoin to apply for the bSenior Application Support Engineer /b role at bGlobal Blue /b /p p2 weeks ago Be among the first 25 applicants /p pDirect message the job poster from Global Blue /p h3Nature and aim of the position /h3 pGlobal Blue, a leading provider of payment card processing services and a subsidiary of the Global Blue Group, a leading provider of Global Tourist Tax Free processing services, is seeking an experienced Applications Support Engineer to provide technical applications management support for core payment applications and solutions. /p pIn this role, you will work closely with the Manager Applications Support, our Infrastructure and internal development teams and our IT operations teams. /p pTo succeed, you should possess experience in managing applications support teams and have an extensive background with providing application support in a fast-paced environment and a proactive approach to managing application support tasks. /p h3Main Duties and Responsibilities /h3 ul liProviding software application support as directed by Manager Applications Support. /li liPerform analyses of software application functionality and suggest improvements. /li liConsult as required with software vendors, software development teams, internal users, and clients to improve application performance. /li liEstablish root causes for application errors and escalate serious concerns to management. /li liKeep records of configuration changes and schedule application updates. /li liDocument processes and monitor application performance metrics. /li liProviding technical support to clients and internal users in other departments. /li liAssisting with systems integrations. /li liMaintain and update technical documents and procedures. /li liTeam IT Infrastructure. /li liTeam Platform and Product Development. /li liTeam IT Operations Finance. /li liTeam External Software Vendors. /li /ul h3Minimum qualifications /h3 ul liMinimum 3-year L2 Application Support experience. /li liWorking knowledge of payment clearing and settlement processes highly desired. /li liWorking experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and SQL (MS or Oracle Database). /li liWorking experience in either Splunk, MFT or Control-M is advantageous. /li /ul h3Preferable Skills and Competencies /h3 ul liDemonstrable experience as an Application Support Engineer. /li liExperience with system monitoring, alert and log-file troubleshooting. /li liAbility to manage code migration, document configuration changes, and monitor application performance. /li liLinux shell scripting experience. /li liAdvanced SQL scripting; basic Java or C programming skills. /li liWorking experience on monitoring tools like Splunk, Control-M is highly preferred. /li liCompetency to provide broader support across internal departments. /li liExceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills. /li liExperience in payment processing business is highly preferred. /li liStrong organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload. /li liMaturity in managing expectations: change requests, dealing with unexpected incidents, and supporting technical issues through to resolution. /li liDetail-oriented, with high quality standards and accuracy in work; independent, goal-oriented and self-motivating. /li liExcellent in English (written and spoken); other languages are desirable. /li /ul h3Education and Background Qualifications /h3 pThe incumbent should be a university graduate and hold qualifications in IT, computing and/or engineering with 3 years’ experience working as an Application Support Engineer.
