Head of Integrity and Regulatory Affairs – Lead Investigator EMEA, ABB Motion Business Area.
This role is open in Europe, with preferred locations in Italy (Sesto San Giovanni), the Netherlands (Rotterdam) and other key ABB Motion sites. The work model is hybrid.
As part of ABB’s growth, you are accountable for overseeing all Severity Level 3 integrity and Severity Level 1-3 HR investigations in the EMEA region for the Motion Business (“MO”). You partner with division, country legal, integrity and HR teams to investigate and remediate integrity and workplace issues ranging from theft and T&E concerns to harassment, bullying, and substance abuse. You analyze root causes, recommend process improvements and ensure remediation actions are implemented. The role reports to the Head of Integrity for Motion, with a dotted line to the Head of HR for Motion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end investigations of integrity matters for MO globally, focusing on the EMEA region, and on HR‑related topics such as workplace harassment, discrimination, conflicts of interest, T&E concerns, unauthorized disclosure of confidential information, threats, violence and HSE matters.
Serve as principal case administrator for HR‑related complaints, triage, plan and conduct investigations, analyse allegations and facts, collect and analyse emails and other data, review transaction analyses, write reports and perform duties as required.
Prepare for and conduct sensitive interviews of complainants, witnesses, victims and subjects with expertise, calmness, and objectivity.
Analyse root causes of failures or errors, recommend process and control improvements, and liaise with internal controls, HR or other functions to drive remediation efforts.
Present findings to relevant management or committees to determine appropriate disciplinary actions in compliance with local labour laws.
Provide high‑level expertise, guidance and leadership for company‑wide, multi‑jurisdictional reviews that may impact employees, business operations and reputation.
Use ABB case management system to track, manage and close matters, including remediation or follow‑up actions.
Guide and support HR and legal colleagues in conducting investigations into HR or other topics.
Continuously assess and measure program effectiveness, implement and communicate changes, and lead, guide, upskill users of tools and processes.
Qualifications
Education: preferably a US degree in law, HR, audit such as LLB, LLM or equivalent.
5+ years experience handling ethics, integrity investigations or forensic reviews, ideally with HR focus in a multinational corporation, legal or consulting firm, or white‑collar crime enforcement.
Knowledge and experience of eDiscovery processes, data collection, analysis and reporting.
Good understanding of IT tools, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication skills; fluency in written and spoken English is essential; additional languages are a bonus.
Good judgment and ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.
Strong work ethics and professional interview skills.
Self‑starter, motivated, able to operate with minimal supervision in a dynamic, multicultural environment and multitask efficiently.
