The Role The Institute of Mountain Emergency Medicine is seeking a motivated Junior Researcher or Researcher to join the project “White matter HyperIntensities after RepeaTed Exposure to hypobaric hypoxia” (CUP D53C25003930003) project ID 2014216, funded by the Autonomous Province of Bolzano in the framework of the Programme Research Südtirol/Alto Adige 2024. (S)he will be responsible for organizing and conducting a logistically and medically challenging research project, as well as for supporting the analysis and publication of the resulting data. Specifically, s(he) will support the overall project and general tasks, with a specific focus on an observational in-field study conducted across the Alpine region in collaboration with different medical and research Institutions, and an experimental simulation study in the terraXcube, including medical visits, MRI assistance, participant recruitment, and logistical coordination. (S)he will also contribute to general project-related tasks. As the project involves research partners from several countries, the junior researcher will be expected to play an active role in coordinating national and international collaborations. The position will begin in September 2026 and has a duration of two and a half years (30 months).
Tasks & Key Responsibilities
Managing the study protocol and coordinating contributions from project collaborators.
Study preparation, including ethical consent, participants recruitment, organization of study location and logistic, etc.
Coordinating the field study and supporting the experimental study conducted in the terraXcube.
Supporting the analysis, interpretation, and publication of research results.
Contribute to communication, information and dissemination tasks within the projects.
Requirements
Medical Doctor, MSc or equivalent qualification.
Experience in clinical practice is desirable.
Previous experience with clinical studies is an advantage.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Skills with statistical software are desirable.
Versatility, strong teamwork skills, and good organizational abilities.
Knowledge of Italian and/or German is considered an advantage.

Gross annual salary ranging from 42.227,74 € to 62.495,36 €
