Key Responsibilities of an Automation Developer
* Develop and maintain scripts to extract data from public websites and online databases
* Automate workflows that turn unstructured and semi-structured data into actionable formats
* Build and manage internal systems to organize, store, and deliver collected data
* Regularly test, monitor, and troubleshoot automated processes to ensure reliability
* Adapt tools quickly when source websites change or new formats are introduced
* Use technologies such as Python, Selenium or other web-scraping toolsto support data scraping and testing
* Create and maintain documentation for scripts, processes, and data pipelines
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data priorities and deliver results aligned to business goals
* Independently manage timelines and deliverables, often on a weekly project cadence
* Support the scale and evolution of automation tools as the organization expands into new markets and data types
Automation Developer Requirements
* 1-4years of experience in automation, scripting, or data scraping roles
* Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of scraping tools (e.g., Selenium, Scrapy)
* Experience handlinginconsistent data and transforming it into clean, usable outputs
* Familiarity with structured and semi-structured data formats (e.g., HTML, CSV, PDFs)
* Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to adapt to evolving challenges
* Comfortable using GitHub or similar version control systems
* Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly curious—able to work independently and navigate ambiguity
* Bonus: Experience with OCR tools or automating repetitive data collection workflows
Salary Expectations
The range for this role is $80-110k, depending on experience, with potential for performance-based profit sharing (estimated at 15–25% of salary, though not guaranteed).
