We are looking for a Systems Engineer to support the growth of our Public Sector business in Italy. /p h3Role Overview /h3 pIn this role, you will serve as a key technical advisor and trusted partner for public sector organizations across Italy – including central and local government, healthcare, education, regional authorities, law enforcement, and public administration bodies. You will drive technical enablement, solution design, and architectural leadership to help these organizations strengthen their cybersecurity posture and modernize their digital environments. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liLead all technical aspects of the customer engagement process, including responses to RFIs, RFPs/RFQs, and coordination of Proof of Concept activities with internal teams and strategic partners. /li liInterpret and translate customer technical requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient solutions. /li liAct as the primary technical contact for Public Sector customers, working closely with the aligned sales team to support account strategy and long‑term customer success. /li liMaintain deep knowledge of Fortinet’s portfolio, including solutions for secure networking, Zero Trust, cloud security, SOC modernization, and endpoint protection. /li liStay informed on evolving cybersecurity threats, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements relevant to the Italian Public Sector (including NIS2, GDPR, AGID guidelines, and ACN directives). /li liCommunicate the value of Fortinet’s solutions through presentations, whiteboarding, technical workshops, documentation, and architectural discussions. /li liManage multiple engagements efficiently while delivering a responsive, high‑quality experience to customers with diverse operational needs. /li liMaintain accurate technical details and activity records in Salesforce for customer and prospect accounts. /li /ul h3Candidate Profile /h3 pWe are looking for an insightful, influential collaborator who thrives in complex environments. /p h3What You Should Have /h3 ul liStrong understanding of cybersecurity technologies such as encryption, authentication, network security, intrusion prevention, malware protection, routing, switching, LAN/WAN. /li liExperience in a pre‑sales engineering role, ideally supporting Public Sector or regulated industries. /li liAbility to address complex challenges and design solutions that support secure, resilient, and compliant operations. /li liExcellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for technical, operational, and executive audiences. /li liFamiliarity with technologies and protocols such as RADIUS, PKI, IKE, certificates, L2TP, IPSEC, firewall, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, 3DES. /li liCISSP certification is a plus; additional security‑focused certifications are advantageous. /li /ul h3Why Join Us /h3 pFortinet embraces diversity and inclusivity.
