Within our Group Head Office - Global Investment Management (GIM) - we are seeking a Public Market & Derivatives specialist to join the Portfolio Construction & Tactical Asset Allocation team. The Group CIO function oversees the investment strategy and performance across all asset classes, managing approximately €360bn of assets for Generali Group insurance companies across 60 countries. The successful candidate will report to the head of Portfolio Construction and Tactical Asset Allocation and collaborate with both central and local investment teams reporting to various Local Chief Investment Officers.
The role can be based in Milano or Trieste .
Key responsibilities include:
* Steering the Tactical Asset Allocation process for all Group portfolios, with a focus on public markets and derivatives.
* Contributing to the definition and adjustment of tactical portfolio positioning based on market conditions, return requirements, and investment opportunities.
* Developing and maintaining tools for portfolio optimization, investment strategy modeling, and allocation monitoring.
* Generating investment ideas, hedging strategies, and portfolio management strategies; back-testing and analyzing their coherence with overall risk appetite and constraints.
* Engaging proactively with asset managers and implementation teams to optimize market execution and investment results.
Requirements:
Ideal candidates will have:
* A Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or Quantitative Subjects.
* 1-3 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably with asset managers or insurance companies.
* Strong knowledge of capital markets, asset allocation, and portfolio optimization.
* Proficiency in Excel, VBA, Python/Matlab, data management tools (Access, SQL), and presentation skills (PowerPoint).
* Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
* Experience with Bloomberg/Refinitiv Eikon and other data providers is advantageous.
* Being a CFA and/or CAIA Charterholder or candidate is a plus.
* Proactive attitude, problem-solving skills, independent thinking, and entrepreneurial mindset.
