Vertiv is hiring a Procurement Lead to support New Product Development. As a member of the Americas Procurement Team, the person will lead sourcing activities for an assigned Line of Business. This position will be the primary contact managing all sourcing related to new product introductions, cost reductions, production transfers, supply chain design, and time to market. The role involves close collaboration with Engineering and Commodity teams to monitor prototype parts, identify e-Auction opportunities, perform risk and resiliency assessments, and report on KPIs.
Primary Responsibilities
* Manage procurement deliverables as new products move from ideation to pilot and mass production, ensuring speed, quality, and performance exceed expectations.
* Participate in engineering projects to ensure sourcing from preferred suppliers, meet BOM and CapEx cost targets, establish a reliable supply chain, maximize dual sourcing, and ensure material and supplier readiness for milestones.
* Develop prototype strategies with engineering and buyers, analyze tooling needs and costs.
* Review supplier proposals, coordinate with regional and global procurement teams to mitigate risks.
* Own purchase BOM cost reporting, track cost changes, and participate in component reduction activities to stay within budget.
* Host sourcing reviews for critical projects and ensure timely resolution of actions.
* Report procurement KPIs accurately and work on improvements when targets are not met. Complete procurement gate deliverables during new product development and provide input during gate reviews.
* Lead or participate in NPD/NPI review meetings, coordinate with EMS suppliers for launch schedules.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Level
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Electronic), Supply Chain Operations, or Business.
Minimum Years of Experience
5-7 years in supply chain, engineering, or related fields.
Special Skills
* Strong supply chain and engineering background, with experience in NPI, project management, industrialization, etc.
* Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and BOMs.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects, work well within cross-functional teams.
* Deep understanding of procurement strategies and Vertiv’s industry standards.
* Capability to build strategic supplier relationships and lead in complex, international teams.
* Experience working in matrix organizations, flexibility to work across time zones.
* Change management, continuous improvement mindset.
* Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office, ERP, and PLM tools.
