Internship Opportunity in Turbomachinery Engineering
The Directorate of Space Transportation is seeking a university student to work on the development and validation of an in-house tool for the predesign of turbopumps main components. The internship will focus on the harmonization and preliminary modeling of liquid rocket engines turbines design rules.
About the Task:
- Develop an in-house tool for the predesign of turbopumps main components
- Validate the tool with results obtained from commercial tools
- Run several case studies coming from different turbopumps in development for LRE of future VEGA launchers
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and validate the in-house tool for turbopumps main components predesign
* Harmonize and model liquid rocket engines turbines design rules
* Run case studies on different turbopumps in development for LRE of future VEGA launchers
Requirements:
* University student in final or second-to-last year of a university course at Master's level
* Enrolled at a University for the entire duration of the internship
* Good knowledge of one of the working languages (English or French)
* Educational knowledge in Fluid dynamics / Gas dynamics, Thermodynamics and Heat transfer, Turbomachinery
