The Role:
We are looking for a Laser Communication System Engineer to support the development of optical ground stations and satellite laser systems. This role involves system design, performance analysis, and integration of cutting-edge optical technology for space and ground applications. You will work closely with teams across engineering disciplines to deliver high-performance communication solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop optical ground stations for laser communication and satellite laser ranging.
* Define system architecture, requirements, and performance targets.
* Manage system interfaces and oversee integration and verification.
* Conduct simulations and performance analysis.
* Prepare technical documentation and coordinate with subcontractors.
* Support customer interactions and ensure project goals are met.
What You'll Need:
* Master's degree or PhD in Engineering or Physics.
* 2+ years of experience in optical systems for laser communication.
* Knowledge of free-space optical communication, satellite laser ranging, or laser beam propagation.
* Proficiency in Matlab, Python, or Octave for simulations.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team.
* Good command of English.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with adaptive optics, laser physics, photonics, optical detection, or tracking systems.
* Familiarity with optical communication system design and simulation tools.
* Knowledge of Zemax for optical system modeling.
