This is a senior individual‑contributor role reporting to the EAME Tax Director, on an evolving business model that taps on your experience in the Big 4 or in industry.\nWhat You Will Do\n\nsupport business expansion in a wide jurisdictional base\ntranslate technical rules into clear, commercially-grounded advice for stakeholders\nM&A; and restructuring\ntax audit strategy and support\nassess the impact of evolving legislation\n\nGiven Caterpillar’s global footprint and growth ambitions, professionals with broad international tax experience in the Big 4 and/or in‑house roles who are comfortable operating in fast‑paced environments will find themselves ideally suited to this role. In return, Caterpillar offers the scale, variety and purpose of a world‑class organisation, combined with the opportunity for meaningful work at the forefront of international taxation.\nWhat You Will Have\n\nEffective Communications: Understanding effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.\nProblem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.\nInfluencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise to develop solutions that support the enterprise strategy.\nTax Advisory: Advising business partners on complex scenarios with an enterprise viewpoint, leveraging experience across broad jurisdictions with a deep knowledge of international tax concepts in M&A;, business expansion and tax audit management.\nTax Operations: Reviewing complex tax compliance utilizing technical rules and business facts.\nResearch Analysis: Able to conduct research on complex fact patterns and can interpret and evaluate research to support informed decision‑making.\n\nTop Candidates Will Also Have\n\nRecognised accounting or tax qualification;\n10-12 years of international tax experience in either practice or industry, including at least 5 years’ experience managing cross-border tax structuring projects or advisory;\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to assess the broader environment when structuring advice and solutions;\nConfident self‑starter with the ability to work independently in a demanding, fast‑paced environment whilst contributing to the overarching strategic direction of the department;\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with colleagues from different departments and cultures; and\nFluency in English is essential; additional languages would be an advantage.\n\nAdditional Information\nA valid work permit or EU-25/EFTA citizenship is required for this position. This role requires up to 10% of business travel time.
