Experteer Overview
As a Thermal System Engineer at Vertiv in Piove di Sacco, you will develop and maintain physics-based thermodynamic models for HVAC products to support global sales and design teams. You will write and optimize models of components and systems, validate them against lab data, and collaborate with control engineers to integrate correct software for system simulations. You’ll lead projects, analyze data, and document results to enable scalable, accurate thermal analyses. This role offers impact on product performance and a chance to shape modeling tools used across the company.

- Develop and maintain mathematical models of HVAC components and systems
- Code efficient algorithms to simulate single/multi-circuit HVAC systems
- Create and manage heat transfer and pressure drop correlations library
- Review literature and implement new methods in code
- Investigate convergence and accuracy of thermodynamic models and implement fixes
- Collaborate with Control Engineering to integrate control software into simulation tools
- Write test plans and conduct system testing for model validation
- Calibrate models against lab data and document findings

Responsabilità
- MS Degree in mechanical, energy engineering or related science to thermodynamics
- 5+ years of experience in developing thermal models and heat transfer analysis of commercial HVAC systems
- Strong background in single and two-phase fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics
- Understanding of HVAC system operation and controls
- Strong coding and unit-testing skills with object-oriented languages and simulation tools
- Experience with CFD software (1D/2D) and numerical methods for root-finding
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented team player
- Proficient in MS Office and English communication; Italian language skills are a plus
