Operational Support Engineer (M/F), Professional - Taranto

Come join the new Vestas Blades Process Engineering organization. This organization is a co-located, process engineering team focused on developing and supporting the organization with subject matter experts (SMEs). It embeds skilled engineering directly into the manufacturing value stream to enable faster decision-making, deeper process ownership, and knowledge sharing. It is built on a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate continuous improvement on Handling and Transport processes across the manufacturing sites.
* Analyze AS IS and future state processes and identify improvement opportunities.
* Create and maintain a plan for improvement.
* Create the needed Engineering Change Notices (CNs).
* Serve as case handler on escalation processes when factories cannot progress production, often urgent and critical to resolve quickly.
* Contribute to building a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility.
* Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods such as the 5 Whys and Fishbone Diagrams.
* Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools, including Lean.
Education
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
Experience
* About 6-8 years of experience in similar roles as described above
Worked with
* Analyze Handling & Logistics processes
* Transport tool specification
* Process flow creation
* Focus on optimization and standardization within manufacturing processes using the mentioned toolbox
Core competences
* Combination of technical, analytical, and operational competencies related to Handling & Transport and continuous improvement
* Skills in process design and optimization for Handling & Transport
* Willingness to work in a factory environment to understand and solve problems
* Data-driven decision making; ability to use data analytics tools and Lean
* Experience with 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to identify and solve Handling or Logistics issues
* Self-motivated, result-oriented with strong organizational discipline
* Ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones with stakeholders
* Customer-oriented with understanding of the full business value chain
