Belmond is recruiting an Assistant Financial Controller to work on property at multiple locations in Italy. The role might require relocating temporarily to various locations within the Southern Europe Region which might include currently Italy, Spain, and Portugal. /ppstrongPrimary Responsibilities: /strong /polliOversees the Accounting department activities to ensure optimal efficiency and performance of the department. /liliRepresents the Financial Controller in his absence. /liliAssists Financial Controller in the budgeting forecasting processes. /liliDirects and supervises Accounting department employees, including income audit and accountant. /liliAssists the FC in implementing policies, rules, internal controls, and safeguards that ensure profitability and control of operations; liaison with the business's external and internal auditors. /liliCoordinates month-end closing, prepares all required journal entries, performs analytical reviews of Financial Statements, and explains any variances from Budget. /liliAssists Financial Controller for Financial Reporting to Corporate Headquarters. /liliCoordinates annual internal and external audit processes. /liliMonitors departmental internal controls and creates and implements Operating procedures as necessary. /liliCoordinates the reconciliation of the balance sheets. /liliDelegates accounting tasks to junior accounting staff. /liliIdentifies solutions to discrepancies in financial records. /liliContributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed. /li /olpstrongQualifications: /strong /polliStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. /liliHighly skilled in accounting and financial processes. /liliExcellent communication and interpersonal skills. /liliDetail-oriented and highly organized. /liliSkilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks. /liliExcellent critical thinking skills. /liliPrevious experience in a similar role. /liliBusiness and Accounting background. /liliGood written and verbal communication skills. /liliGood analytical and reasoning skills. /liliAbility to think clearly under pressure. /liliAbility to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner. /liliAbility to work effectively and relate well with senior management, colleagues, and subordinates. /liliEnglish language essential; Spanish and Portuguese language desirable. /li /olpAt Belmond, we pride ourselves on fostering a culture built on kindness, active listening, and genuine connections with our colleagues and guests.
