As a Construction Project Manager you will be part of an efficient team tasked with building and delivering HV infrastructure assets at scale in Milan, Italy.Key Responsibilities- Manage construction project scope, timeline, and budget for new substation and transmission line projects in Italy.- Interface with general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and close‑out phases.- Negotiate and evaluate contractor bids and proposals with detail and accuracy.- Create project scopes and requests for proposals.- Review construction submittals and maintain project quality control, including commissioning plans.- Collaborate with internal and external teams supporting data center operations.- Manage multiple projects concurrently, recording and reporting key metrics to senior management.- Perform capital requests and financial analysis of construction work, including change orders and invoicing.- Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for equipment or electrical failures.- Negotiate easements, way‑leaves, and landowner agreements.- Apply value engineering to reduce costs without impacting quality.- Travel to sites for walk‑downs, audits, inspections, and commissioning activities; up to 40% travel within EMEA.Basic Qualifications- 7+ years of recent experience in construction management of large, complex MEP projects.- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including breaker coordination and switchgear operation.- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles for cooling systems.- Experience managing contractors and vendors through RFP, bidding, and change orders.- Direct experience in designing and constructing HV substations or large‑scale mechanical and electrical plants.Preferred Qualifications- Experience with large‑scale technical operations, mission‑critical mechanical/electrical infrastructure, or large‑scale compute farms.- Knowledge of location‑specific electrical utility providers.- Proficiency in risk and change management for procurement, delivery, and handover of design‑and‑build projects.- Experience in contract and commercial negotiations and administration.- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or 4+ years of related construction‑management experience in lieu of a degree.Equal OpportunityAmazon is an equal‑opportunity employer.
